John Ray- 06-14-2009

Not Planning to paint this week but to base my third Austrian/Hungarian regiment and my new Austrian artillery. This will complete my first Austrian infantry brigade(at last) of 175 figures plus artillery. The rest of the week, time permitting, will be devoted to Spanish masters. John

Whoopee I can paint in short bursts, gonna tackle my backlog Naps pile I think starting with 3 batts AB brits :hi:

I've been varnishing some ECWs and have another 11 Sudan finished and also being varnished. More have been started but I'm not really in a painting mood and having sort of messed up a figure that needs some remedial work I decided it was time to put my brush down so I've been looking at basing and flags… I have about 80 Mahdists done and have been messing about with them following the Gilder idea of: lots of rocks = less figures to buy and paint. My British won't be fighting an army of rocks but once you get a few down you don't need many riflemen tucked into them to look good enough. I have realised that I only need to order three more packs of Beja foot and one mounted Command to have all I need for a nice little force to play with. With a Birthday coming up soon I might see this particular army done before SELWG.

I have 10 more 28mm Riffi to finish before Friday, should be OK. That will be 35 this month, not a big total, but my first attempts at 28mm ever, so I`m quite happy.

Timmo- 06-28-2009

35 in a month is very good going IMHO.

Stavka- 06-28-2009

Not much painting at Chez Stavka this past week. June/July is always a busy time of year at work, and this weekend the wife and I bought some new furniture- which, as is the way of such things, required two days of chain-reaction moving and rearranging of furniture so everything would fit. :stars: :grr: The acquisition of both the Savory SYW book as well as the latest edition of the Koenig Krieg rules have brought the 18th C. to the forefront of my attention again. Some French War of the Austrian Succession figures on the table ready to go once I get painting again, along with some WW1 Austrians I've been working on.

John Ray- 06-28-2009

Just finished preparing/converting the last of the Prussian Frei Corps and two Prussian field guns and another two battalion guns(crews are already painted). With only two more Prussian cavalry regiments to paint and that completes the army. John

Big Dave- 06-28-2009

Have finished 70 Nap British Abs this week and just about 12 KGL Dragoons Then next week its 24 French Cuirassiers, another Marshall Ney and a caisson and team (horses are already done) After that its back to work so painting wil slow down Do I crack on with 15mm Naps - 2 mor batts British line and 2 batts French line or paint some more 28mm arabs again, not sure

Count Belisarius- 06-28-2009

After a couple of months of near zero activity I've pulled out my old 15mm Punic War armies. Painted the 8 elephant crew for my 4 Carthaginian elephants I painted nie on 12 years ago, and had half of my second legion part painted so they are nearly done and the 16 triarii are due to be done to complete. So this weekend should see c.40 figures completed in the last 2 weeks! All I need to do now is update my blog! Andy

levied troop- 06-28-2009

Having finished the terrain for Bovvy, this week I will be painting mostly Flemish nuns and Hercule Poirot. And writing up a couple of scenarios for them

Prince of Darkness- 06-28-2009

Finished 7 more Bicorne/Renegade ECW today, so 7 more to go before my 2nd 24-figure ECW foot regiment is finished. I'm waiting for a Renegade order to arrive, which will enable me to complete my 2 command bases. Also starting on another couple of First Carlist War battalions - Isabelino regulars in greatcoats, which hopefully won't take too long.

goat major- 06-29-2009

i've got to base my 10mm highlanders. I hate basing. hate it hate it hate it. I've told myself that i can't start my Perry plastics until i base these little b****rs.

Timmo- 06-29-2009

GM Good luck. I think I'm going to resort to similar tactics with myself. Still no house painted so I might have to pack up the figures totally for a bit as they are too much of a distraction and have also been driving me a bit mad recently.
