Painted the Perry riflemen from the front of WI on Saturday as a break from my normal painting. The figures are great and i'm reasonably happy with the result but I had forgotten how long it take me to paint a 28mm figure - i really have no idea how people do this for a living! I will not be taking the 180 figures in a month challenge any time soon !

Bits & pieces coming along. I've almost finished a terrain piece for the ECW & have started cleaning up some buildings & Sampans for Vietnam. Progress is a bit sporadic at the moment due to other committments.

I hope I'll be able to paint this week - am having a shoulder repair this afternoon and will be in a sling for 4-6 weeks Will have a month off work - if I can't paint I'll go bonkers as there are only so many books you can read :beg:

Since my new 1938 stuff has not arrived yet :grr: I am painting my 10mm romans, partly to exercise the horror of the ancients game I took part in at the weekend.

I am painting my Perrys hard plastic ACW cavalry. And putting together Field of Glory's hard plastic Caesar's legion, which are not nearly as well sculpted as the Perry's plastics

Working on Pirch I's Prussian Brigade for Autumn 1813 for LFS in 15mm. On the workbench 7th (2nd West Prussian) Infantry Regiment.

Depends on which shoulder you are having repaired VB, if it's your non-dominant side you should be OK. The sling is usually a restrictive movement one.

Hope the operation goes ok VB, and that you manage to paint heaps over the next few weeks. I painted a second ECW gun crew over the weekend (from Warlord Games) and some more Carlist War stuff. Currently I'm working on finishing off my 18-figure British Auxiliary Legion Rifles corps and have just started on the 10th BAL battalion, the "Munster Light Infantry". I got the green stuff out to rough up their clothes a bit, as the BAL were very badly equipped (being officially part of the Spanish Army). Also thinking about a second ECW infantry unit to start on.

VB - as long as one hands free you will be fine. I'm torn between working on.. 10mm Warmaster Orcs 28mm BTD US and Germans or should I go back to my 1:600 planes or.. ummm

I managed to repaint the eyes on the two WI Riflemen last night. I'd had a first attempt at the faces last week and wasn't happy with them. That's the only painting I've done in over a month :( Saturday morning up at 5 with kids. Sunday morning up at 4.30 I hate summer and light mornings. I'm going to paint their windows black tonight... So long as you can get the wine bottle open it will all be well! Glad to hear the op went well.

valleyboy- 06-09-2009

i'm sure that teeth and determination will get me into a wine bottle ET had my first ever dose of morphine yesterday- i suspect that it was this rather than the fact that i'd actually woken up again after having a GA that made me feel so euphoric :D - now i can see why some people get to like the stuff :mental:

baxterj- 06-09-2009
