Foundry 20% off sale
Foundry, in that random way that they do, are offering 20% off everything until 10 November.
I will probably buy some more of the newer paint sets and stock up on some replacement pots fot the older ones, even though I'm beginning to have major concerns about the quality of their paints (which seem to me to have had a considerable reduction in pigment amount) :hmm:
Timmo- 10-29-2009
I've never bought anything direct from Foundry and suspect I never will!
I thought you were using Coat d' arms paints now?

We never buy direct from Foundry either, we side step their postal rates and get our Foundry stuff from Dave T.......
:)

Is 20% off a good discount for Foundry or are their Xmas discounts better? I'm in no hurry so if Xmas is better, I can wait.
Prince of Darkness- 11-01-2009
Cornet, I thik it's about as much of a discount as Foundry ever offer. I can't recall a 25% discount ever, although they may have had one over the past few years. Other offers tend to concentrate on offering "hordes" and other collections as a discount.

Well, I must confess my treachery, because I have used the discount to order a load of wildlife from them! Woodland animals, farm animals, all the hooved beasts i shall ever need, a lifetime's supply of livestock if ever there was, and because I ordered just enough, the postage is free too.
Expect Battlegames to suddenly feature a lot of hunting scenarios, shepherding games and general bestiality.
Oooh, err, no, hang on...
Prince of Darkness- 11-01-2009
Henry, I'm sure this forum is the right place if you want bestiality scenarios. I can think of at least half a dozen members who must have some up their sleeves. For example, I'm sure Ronan and I could come up with something involving the 23rd Foot and its regimental goat during the long voyage from England to America... :coffee:

Actually, something involving a goat AND a young boy after they arrived in America (with primary source evidence to back it up).

Thanks. Having never purchased from them nor yet being in this hobby long enough to note discount cycles, I had no basis for comparison. It sounded like a good sale, but I am woefully uninformed. However, I am somewhat reluctantly considering some of the Perry sculpted AWI figures you've recommended here and elsewhere ... reluctantly not because they're Perry but because they're Foundry.
Geez, Ronan. You're going to tease that item without telling the story?

Quite pleased to take advantage of this offer as I've been looking to get some of the India Hill Tribesmen for a while but the prices had put me off. However one of the foundry 'deals' plus an extra 20% off tipped the balance.
Greystreak- 11-08-2009
Indeed! Like Paul, the combination of 20% off, and no postage feels put it over the top for me. Topping up on depleted paints, and filling some 'gaps' in my Russian Napoleonics OOB . . . :isaidwhat:

Last day and i was going to get the doolie set and some pack camels...but they only have dromedaries! Can't find Bactrians even without luggage...curses....can't really make the doolie worth getting on its own :(
