looking for replacement spoked wheels
I have got hold of a few cheap die cast vintage cars suitable for ww1 staff cars etc , a couple which will work for 28mm and a couple suitable for 20mm. I intend to have a bit of fun with them and try to make up some amblences, staff cars & patrol cars for palistine . the only problem is the wheels they have are the Hot wheels type plastic wheels and I would like to replace them with some beter spoked wheels.
Any idea where I can get hold of any suitable wheels for 28mm and 20mm. 1/56 & 1/72 scale.

Can only suggest you start trawling the model railway 'small suppliers'. There's a company called Springside who might do them. You could of course make them – some railway chaps end up doing that to get wheels for horse drawn vehicles. You could always look at cast wheels not spoked as I'm sure many would use solid wheels.
Incidentally I stumbled over some truly beautiful WW1 French in 1/72 metal. They are designed for military railways so lots of marching, hanging about etc etc. V. expensive but nice.
oooh!! what company made them Tim? any chance of a linky please? :-)
wooks if you scroll down here they have some wheels; might they do?

Don't look at that site - you'll never recover
I kept sizing up a WW1 rail system every time I went there, then sizing up my flat and silently weeping.
thanks for the link Theo, But the price of 4 wheels plus shipping is more than all the cars put together. think I may have to do some modifications with the ones they came with.
Timmo cheers had a look at springside but they dont do them. The WD models figures are indeed very nice will be bookmarking them for future reference mind they are far to nice to put along side the figs Im intending on using, IT minitures, plus maybe some Tumbling dice and 1/72 plastics.
Springside did do some replacement spoked wheels at one point in time but maybe no more(there's a set here somewhere).

sorry to come late to this but send me your contact details through private message and I will send you some wheels we use for our Crossleys (thin) and/or Austins (thick)
Actually I have a whole load of different wheels for various vehicles we do so I can send you photos of them and you can see which will work best. All 1/48th scale but they should be fine for your 28mm stuff.

PS. There will be a bit of a delay as I am in norway for another 10 days or so if that is okay.
