22 days on I have now at last sent off the Spanish 1770's masters to the caster.
As I have pre-sold 6 of my painted Spanish infantry regiments from the collection, I want the new castings back asap, flags are ready to present to the new regiments.
Currently on the workbench are Austrian cuirassier cavalry castings and all those Spanish buildings awaiting the paintbrush.

I'm working on 28mm ww2 russians and 10mm celts, as a side project I'm making 40k terrain out of household tat for some kids my girlfriend used to look after who have joined the cult of GW!

Had an eye operation two weeks ago and not been able to paint soldiers as such. Still, based the city walls and towers and based 220 Indian Mutiny figures.
The workbench has been cleared for the last 2 weeks and I'm itching to finish my Ghurkas.

Rivets. Thousands of them.
Timmo- 08-05-2009
Just passing to say hi as RTL suggested I should.
Sounds like Gung is back on the railway.
Painted – zero.
I've packed up all my stuff in the loft except for five finished ECW that I need to photo. Out-of-sight-out-of-mind. Enjoying doing some other things mostly outside and having been manic with work I'm about to have an unexpected holiday away.
The bug will bite again and I'll be back.

Just picked up a load of painted Ancient Spanish which I've just started applying washes to and rebasing.
Still have part painted Triarii on table.
Some scenic work done.
Too many options at moment to decide on what's next...:)

some Artizan, Musketeer miniatures and Perry 28mm arabs
Giles- 08-06-2009
Like Timmo, I've fallen into a painting slump and I've only completed 4 figures since last Monday. We have one of the Kiwi's relatives to stay, which is eating into painting time. I think I'm also getting a bit bored of ECW, or at least "firing line" infantry. I have a dozen figures left to paint for Pwince Wupert's Wegiment and then I'll probably do some more AWI for a change.

In July I finished 72 more AB figures of the Hesse Darmstadt Leib Garde Brigade and immediately started the supplemental 24 'skirmish' stands of figures before the vacation season hit. Like Giles, I'm coping with visitors from overseas, and trying to keep my boys busy . . . so things have gone off the boil the last couple of weeks. Will post photos on my existing WIP thread in due course.

Having cleared my workbench today of metal, soldering iron and milliput etc, I have now left sufficient room for those unpainted Spanish buildings. Not sure how long this will take but given the quantity and complexity of the modules, I would think a couple of weeks to do them justice. All the Spanish coastal forts, barracks etc were painted over a year ago and I never documented the time it took nor the paints used!
Normally I would paint each module shortly after arrival but with other hobby diversions they have been stacking up.
We have:
Courtyard block with stately buildings one of which suitable for the Governor.
Warehouses for port areas.
Windmill and outbuildings.
Three town modules equivelent to about 15+ buildings.
Lots of seperate roofs, internal room features, courtyards, cobbled areas, balconies etc.

I should start painting the Chevaux-Légers de Berg (in their gorgeous early uniforms) tonight. I finished cleaning and priming them a few days ago.
Oooh...these guys are gonna be pretty. :)

Been spending time with the girlfriend, so only painting in the evenings Mon-Thurs. I`ve mostly been painting some Hasslefree figs and some Westwind figs. Have spent today painting Egyptus figs from Crocodile. Been experimenting with different colour tones as I am getting bored of painting caucasians, so have tried chinese, mexican and egyptian tones. Will post pics when I can.

I actually got around to starting on some Perry plastic French, and have found myself enjoying it very much. While in places the detail may not be as good as metal figures can be, in many respects they look as they will be a lot easier to paint. Plastic is also very much easier to work with and the muskets and bayonets are certainly much more in scale.
