Good luck with the shoulder there, VB.

VB, Hope the full recovery time is short.
Today I am basing, The Santo Domingo Vol. Infantry, white companies, circa 1778. The uniform was based on the artwork, page 204, from the Illustrated Encyclopedia of Uniforms of the AWI 1775-83, nice change to have a unit without gaiters.
These figures are Howard's, I sculpted them for our New Spain games. Given I have another 48 castings I may well have a regiment painted next year.

I've seen Morphine do some weird and wonderful things to people. Good luck VB.
Despite my other half bringing home a Wii the other day, I've managed to get some painting done. This time 54mm Zulus, just the initial coats so far, but looking good.

VB – speedy recovery.
7 x Perry Beja done, getting much faster at these now and could do 6 in a day easily.
3 x Bicorne ECWs. Lots of detail, paint up with bags of character. I have two more of these nearly done.
Next up, but at a very gentle, non commital pace, are more Perry Sudan.

Perry crusaders and 2 off Airfix Vickers light tanks for a desert dabble :)

Ouch - good luck VB, I hope yours turns out better than mine - heres to a quick recovery mate
I`ve decided to step out of my comfort zone and paint for the first time ever some 28mm :hmm:
I`m putting my Saharan Groupe Mobile aside for a couple of weeks whilst i get this out of my system.
I have (as you do) with this reviewing lark, slowly gathered a fare few 28mm figures, I now have enough Rif figures to build a force for a skirmish game.
I don`t know how they`ll come out, it will be an interesting challenge.
Timmo- 06-13-2009
Last two Bicorne ECWs done so I have a whole load of figures (18mm Naps and 28mm Sudan and ECW) to varnish which will make a nice break from actual painting.
Prince of Darkness- 06-13-2009
I'm on Bicorne ECW as well this weekend - 2 Perry FCW Brit riflemen and the first 5 figures of my second ECW regiment, the Earl of Northhampton's (green coats, Royalist).

Hope they go well Giles – I admire your determination. I've really enjoyed doing five Bicornes but I couldn't stick at making up big units of these – the detail is wonderful but time sapping.
Gungnir- 06-14-2009
Painted a little bit of Coffeyville scenery, pics as soon as the paint is dry.

Not Planning to paint this week but to base my third Austrian/Hungarian regiment and my new Austrian artillery.
This will complete my first Austrian infantry brigade(at last) of 175 figures plus artillery.
The rest of the week, time permitting, will be devoted to Spanish masters.

Whoopee I can paint in short bursts, gonna tackle my backlog Naps pile I think starting with 3 batts AB brits :hi:

I've been varnishing some ECWs and have another 11 Sudan finished and also being varnished. More have been started but I'm not really in a painting mood and having sort of messed up a figure that needs some remedial work I decided it was time to put my brush down so I've been looking at basing and flags…
I have about 80 Mahdists done and have been messing about with them following the Gilder idea of: lots of rocks = less figures to buy and paint. My British won't be fighting an army of rocks but once you get a few down you don't need many riflemen tucked into them to look good enough.
I have realised that I only need to order three more packs of Beja foot and one mounted Command to have all I need for a nice little force to play with. With a Birthday coming up soon I might see this particular army done before SELWG.

I have 10 more 28mm Riffi to finish before Friday, should be OK.
That will be 35 this month, not a big total, but my first attempts at 28mm ever, so I`m quite happy.
Timmo- 06-28-2009
35 in a month is very good going IMHO.
