I don't know why his involvement would reassure you, considering the crappy job he did with LOTR...
Didn't mind LOTR personally. It's more that PJ does have some genuine interest in history & doesn't airbrush out inconvenient facts as much as some.
Given his stable of replica WWI aircraft I wonder if he'll commission a Lancaster next?

The only problem I have with is that they are far to long.

I think they have just attached Stephen Fry as the writer for Dam Busters.
The best war films are coming out of Europe these days, IMHO - Downfall, Days of Glory etc
Also the Asian cinema industry is doing great stuff, Brotherhood is great, and I hear good things about Assembly.
The first time I watched Brotherhood I was a bit 'tired and emotional' and all I remembered was the incessant and interminable violence, so I bought the DVD to watch sober. It turned out the violence really was incessant and interminable. Not a bad attempt though, even if it was a little over the top.
I have to admit that Peter Jackson does seem to womble on a bit but I'm glad it's him remaking Dambusters than a lot of other directors I can think of.
I do think 'Downfall' was a little sanitised though seeing as it was Russian financed.

Aside from making a character who doesn't have a single speaking line in the book a main character, my real problem is that he turned Frodo, the everyman hero, into a wuss. Unforgivable. :sniper: :hang:
