Well, THIS weekend
I have just received a ticket for the Durham County Council hospitality box for the final one day international between Australia and England at Chester le Street on Sunday. Looks like they will lose again today so might just be the whitewash-avoiiding tie... Clive

This weekend I shall be mostly drinking, next weekend I shall be playing with steam trains (real ones). Given up painting figures for now - driven me too mad in sheer frustration that I can't be bothered.

Nothing wrong with mostly drinking  Just got my copy of The Damned United, so will be watched on friday night.

Fri: Music Trivia evening to raise funds for a friend's daughter's school :eh: Hopefully there will be lots of booze! Sat: Our club is hosting 4 road running races, so the Missus, kids and I are manning (if women can "man") a waterpoint in the morning. Then odd jobs in the afternoon and DVD's in the evening Sun: Need to get some distance on the old legs so will try and do some kind of training run in the morning. Then if I can't organise a game in the afternoon, I'll do some work either on my WW1 planes or my Peninsular British. Then probably a DVD in the evening

Tomorrow I am in charge of the kids all day as my wife is working. Problem is that Hannah has brought Simon the Leopard glove puppet home from nursery for the weekend along with Simon's 'Diary' in which we have to write what he's done. My wife has already read all previous entries so I am expected to give Simon a very good time with lots of exciting activities! Personally, having seen all the stuff he's done over the last few weeks I think he'd be grateful for a rest and sat in front of the TV all weekend! :) Plus it means I miss the club again (unless I take them all for a visit?), I miss it next week for a (nother) 4th Birthday and following the for Derby. And having been to Derby I'll probably not be allowed out the following week either... :( Those are my plans anyway... Andy

Tomorrow I am in charge of the kids all day as my wife is working. Problem is that Hannah has brought Simon the Leopard glove puppet home from nursery for the weekend along with Simon's 'Diary' in which we have to write what he's done. Sounds like I'd better get to work on my "Francois the Foreign Legionnaire" glove puppet for later use... I've been a bit of a butterfly of late and painting Crusaders, Muslim cavalry and other bits and bob means that I have various units a couple or more figures short of completion. So this weekend's task is to finish all those off. Looks like the 63rd Foot (AWI) will be finished tonight and then I want to get the 10th BAL battalion (First Carlist War) finished by Sunday evening together with some Iroquois (AWI again). And I have 3 shields to paint for said Crusaders...Once all that's done I can start on Monday with a Carlist War provincial militia regiment and the decks cleared :)

No.2 son's tenth birthday on Monday, so this weekend was supposed to be a film trip and meal for him and several mates from school. Sadly, a weekend cub camp (he's in a different pack from the rest of his school friends) and a an under-10s cup soccer match has left him with one out of the original seven - and he's been off with a cold all week. Poor little chap is crest-fallen. Perhaps this might be the weekend to start his figure-painting career.........
