an arab vs El Cid and a set of rules to entertain a certain visting dignatory in March 2010  Is that when the Perries are next visiting NZ then? bugger- my post contained a spelling error - it came out as dignatory when it should have been "dick of a Tory" all along :blah:

This afternoon set up the table for the game on Tuesday. A simple format on a 9 by 6 table, one european building module, a few scattered trees. Two small armies: Austrian... 2 line regiments of 54 figures, 24 pandours, 2 field pieces, 1 Regt of dragoons 26 figures and lastly Uhlans 18 figures. Prussian... 2 line regiments of 42 figures, I grenadier battalion 36 figures, 2 field pieces and a Prussian cuirassier regt 26 figures. With my rules it should last a max of 2 hours including lunch break! John

Back playign with the Vietnam skirmish after I had a strange urge to make some more ruins. What rules are you using? Used to play a lot in the 90's using the "Body Count" rules and 1/72nd plastic. I have neither left and want to get back into the period in 15mm metal.

Currently being taught "Cossacks II" by my older son. Not that interested in the "Euro Domination" option, but the "country development" games and historical skirmish/battle scenarios are quite entertaining. Useful to see how hard it is to juggle trnasferring from column to line etc with big units.

Seriously getting back into FoG after picking it up a couple of years back and not ever playing, most recently played Wings of War but mostly just planning the next umpteen projects of which only umpteen/2 will ever happen! Back playign with the Vietnam skirmish after I had a strange urge to make some more ruins. What rules are you using? Used to play a lot in the 90's using the "Body Count" rules and 1/72nd plastic. I have neither left and want to get back into the period in 15mm metal. Ah I remember the Bodycount rules...they were written by a bloke down the road from me and I picked up a set from his mums house! Think he self published the first edition as my enduring memory is of enormous piles of Green covered A4 stapled rulesets! Good set of rules though...providing you have a higher degree in theoretical mathematics!!

Actually it was the mind-numbing maths in Bodycount that started us writing Charlie Don't Surf, which morphed into IABSM. So Bodycount is directly responsible for the birth of TooFatLardies.

Actually it was the mind-numbing maths in Bodycount that started us writing Charlie Don't Surf, Which we can expect to see when? :beg: :beg: :beg:

I shall be playtesting IABSM 3 next weekend and it will also be the first wargame I've played this year.
